The
Hofstein family have been hotel operators and
restaurateurs throughout Asia since 1968.
For 5 years the Hofstein Brothers were
in joint-venture with the Peninsula Hotel, supplying
meals for aviation catering until they sold their
interest to Swire Pacific Catering in 1967.
Since then,
the company has diversified into the more refined
areas of specialized gourmet food products while
keeping its catering interests alive. Silco International Ltd. was incorporated
in August 1974 to specialize in supplying fine
foods throughout the world to Asia.
Silco is a regional operator, its principal
market being Hong Kong where it holds a significant
market share in the supply of fine foods to the
superior hotels, clubs and restaurants.
Today,
Silco is located at To Kwa Wan near Kowloon City
which is a convenient location from which to manage
the logistics of distribution.
Most of Silco’s fine food are imported
by air requiring a presence at the new Chep Lap
Kok Airport almost daily. All Goods are brought back to our
loading docks at Tokwawan for inspection and storage. Goods are inspected to ensure product
superiority prior to dispatch in our refrigerated
trucks.
